Our Approach
I like being laidback, speaking frankly, and bringing laughter into sessions! The first part of work together involves learning more about you and how you came to be the way you are today. Then, we work on shifting patterns, changing your relationship with the things that are currently bringing you down, and teaching you the skills to build the life you dream of. I believe every experience can serve you if you look at it with curiosity and appreciation. My style is to go beyond “just talking” every week. I like bringing articles and videos into sessions to teach you more about things. Some sessions might include artsy crafty therapeutic projects, therapy games, movement, meditation, or facilitating lifestyle changes. There will be homework. I will, with kindness and compassion, call you out or challenge you. I will ask hard questions. We will laugh. I will show up as my authentic self, because I expect you to also.
I use a trauma-informed, attachment-based lens. I believe in incorporating holistic methods that have been backed by biomedical research and are evidence-based. Things like Mindfulness, meditation, somatic experiencing, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Solution-Focused Brief therapy. I am a TOTAL NERD about Neuroscience and obsessed with using therapy to re-wire the brain into healthy patterns that open us up to feeling tranquility and strength.

Our Story
I knew that I wanted to be a therapist as soon as I figured out that such a job existed. After therapy helped me to overcome some dark times, I became passionate about paying it forward. I devoted my life to researching the best techniques for achieving happiness and teaching them to others. I began in the field of Mental Health in 2002, and have never wavered. I have worked as a Suicide Prevention Specialist, School Counselor, Family Therapist, Intensive In-home clinician and supervisor, Crisis Worker, Residential Group Therapist, and private practitioner.
I have extensive experience and training in working with kids on the Autism spectrum and their caregivers, individuals with trauma, professionals in high-stress environments, and Millenials struggling to find healthy relationships.
My favorite thing about therapy is when I get to see the incredible progress that has been made. Adults who thought they would never maintain a healthy relationship, now happily established. Healthcare professionals who thought they would need to quit their jobs, now enjoying a happy work/life balance. Parents who were desperate to help their kids with special needs now feeling competent and relaxed. Kids who were having weekly meltdowns, constantly worried, lonely, or defiant, now getting along with their families and making friends. It’s AMAZING what INSIGHTS and SKILLS can do for you. It’s my privilege to watch you blossom.
